NAU MAI, HAERE MAI

Te Whariki Tautoko Incorporated Society
what we stand for
who we are

The name Whariki Tautoko signifies the process of weaving together fibres to provide a strong and durable interlinked mat of support services for Māori.  Weaving is the means by which individual fibres/rau harakeke (individuals or small groups working in counseling) may become transformed into a whariki of many shades and textures.

As individual fibres/rau harakeke we are vulnerable to the elements and the environment. As firmly woven whariki, we may retain our unique shades and textures, whilst deriving strength and tautoko from the many fibres alongside us. Most of all we are better placed to provide support and shelter for those who require it.
